Anyone ever had significant pain after cortisone injection?

Got a shot in pirifirmos area Friday afternoon. Made slight movement this morning bent over with a tool and locked up lower back worse than I’ve ever experienced. Hit the ground multiples times when trying to walk.
Anyone else experience a rough day after a shot?

I’ll assume you mean cortisone injection like the steroid not the hormone secreted from your adrenal glands. And I’m going to assume you mean the piriformis muscle in your butt.
I’ve never heard of an injection for piriformis syndrome as that muscle is deep within the gluteal region. I’d love to talk to the person who claimed to injection a hormone into that muscle when the treatment is physical therapy.

Done physical therapy, dry needling etc for months.
Did an injection as it has been aggravating my sciatic nerve on the regular. Tried a different route of resolution

It was cortisone with lidocaine. I'll fix title if I can

Sorry for the rude comment, but I’ve never seen or heard of anyone doing an injection for that one and I’ve done injections for lots of things.
In all honesty, I’d ask your doctor to consider other diagnosis at this point, like a herniated disc, if the injection actually caused you pain instead of relief.

I've read where injections can cause flare up for up to 48 hrs. Had no issues with my shoulder though. This was worst lower back blow out I have had. Most I can work through with stretching and tenz.
Yes next option will be further testing. Especially if this doesn't resolve. My back was not an issue prior to thise morning. Just leg pains

Daughter (softball) had a strained meniscus and sprained MCL. Had bad swelling and it wasn’t getting better. Tried a cortisone injection and she got a cortisone flare and it set her back another 4 weeks. Was terrible and made her pain worse for a few weeks. Dry needling and PT helped but that cortisone flare was no joke for her
