Any central LA/Alexandria-pineville lifters in here ?

Shot in the dark I know. Decided to shift my focus this year from running back to lifting and am needing gym recs. Considering LAC. Pretty good promo right now. TIA.

I'm friends with your brother. LAC is a great gym, and I'd highly recommend it. I go to anytime fitness in Kingsville due to proximity to work, but LAC is better.

Thanks for the recs. I’m pretty sure that’s the route I’ll go. Pretty good home gym but I’d like to mix it up sometimes.

I go to the gym at Rapides. Don Fields managed it when I joined and it was full of lifters but now the Body Roque bootcamp people manage it. Still has the same (but better maintained) equipment. Still some lifters but not as many. Never really crowded. The boot campers use the aerobics room so they aren't taking up the weights or space at all. If it's not out of your way and you don't need the LAC extras, check it out.

I'm at the Courtyard. LAC is fine but everything is too close together there (at least at the Alex one).
Depends on what kind of lifting you are looking to do. The Courtyard has a lot of free weights.

I used to go there when I worked at Rapides. It is big and spacious. I liked it.

To get the rate I used to have (according to their site) I have to pay a 250 start up fee and be locked into a two year contract. Two years seems kinda weird for a gym membership contract. Idk though. I’m not going anywhere in the next few years at least so I’m still considering going back. They do have a shite ton of free weights which is the most important thing to me.

Yeah, I understand that. I've been there for 14 years now. Not wanting to change things up and have been to LAC in Alex a couple times, just too crowded.

It’s def between those two at this point. That other mentioned in here is just too out of the way and I really just don’t like that side of town.
