Achilles Heel soreness

I’m not a fitness fanatic like probably all of you here but I’m racing my friend for 10 mile Turkey trot. We got a friendly $100 wager. I can’t get past the soreness in my Achilles heels and cant put together good runs. I could switch to Hills to ease the angle of my footing but I’d really like to be able to find a fix for the soreness. any tips?

Stretch your ankles and roll out your calves

In the Achilles or the heel?
Loosen the muscles on the sole of the foot and calf. Stretches and lacrosse ball rolling. Tight muscles around the problem area is usually a good place to start.
Devote more time to warming up.

Be careful though with stretching. Turns out that Achilles issues can be caused by tight calves and sometimes by loose calves.
What’s the heel drop on your shoe? Higher the better for helping achilles problems.
Also, hills might exacerbate the problem as it will put more pull on your achilles.
I iced mine twice a day and upgraded my shoes. Stopped stretching my calves so much and it’s pretty much gone.
