Some kids at school were talking about it and my son asked me about it? I have no idea, but a quick search showed up as an alternate to steroids'? Is that true?

Its off season/weights for them.

Please help me understand the do's and don'ts.

Thanks

Do not let your kid take those. To put it bluntly they are essentially low grade steroids without as many side effects. Will still frick up his endocrine system though.

He doesn't need anything but a good diet and a good program.

What program is he doing and what is he eating daily? Is he hitting calorie and protein goals? If not that's the problem.

Ok good to know, forgot to add he is 17. Man we are a small town and its really just weight room and cardio for them. and I think there is more goofing off then actual good work out.
Healthy diet with plenty of calorie intake. He is not a junk food eater, right now he is not taking anything over the counter. Just our cooking.
6'1 205 now. After COVID last year and being at home he got up to 220 with running and push ups. But when football started he started dropping lbs and basketball is running the crap out of them. He would like to be 220-235 and maintain that.

I appreciate the response and the info. I will pass it along as I know the dad of the kid that is/was taking it.

Most ALL steroids taken by high school and college aged kids are low grade, garbage. This should be drilled into their heads. They will NOT give them the results they desire.

Bro he has to eat, not just what you are cooking. He has to eat big. Steak eggs and rice. Force feed it with the amount of cardio basketball is going to require.
