Yeah, I ran in a singlet, arm sleeves, gloves, and half tights and was fine temp wise. The wind from miles 11-18 was pretty tough tho

Baller. Congrats

Congratulations to everyone who participated!

I ran my first half at the Louisiana Marathon. I found the 2 hour pacer 3 miles in and stayed with them for the rest of the race. My official time was 2:00:11.

Thanks.
I was somewhat following higdon plan but deviated from it due to work and when I picked back up was more or less focused on just finishing and getting long runs in and finishing strong “ only had 2min of walk and idle time” so I accomplished that part.
Not looking for a shortcut but what is more important for improving pace now that I’m confident in making the distance? Is running longer race pace runs or intervals? Or is just following the plan the key?

There are a lot of factors, we can have that discussion in the Long Run thread over the next few weeks (and with others chiming in as well) but for now, just enjoy the fact that YOU DID IT!!

Thanks dude, I appreciate that. I can honestly say that it’s just building consistent mileage since I first started running in mid-2019. Played numerous sports growing up, but despised running. I also do a lot of speedwork, which I now love

I beat the BQ standard by 5:19 last year and it wasn't enough, but we will see if that changes to cutoffs this year make BQs actually be BQs

Yeah, with last year’s standard, I am 10 and an half min ahead. So I’m optimistic that it will be enough.
