Has anyone ever played in a charity golf scramble tournament and posted the lowest score at the time, only to have 1 team remaining that needs to hand in their scorecard and have their score posted? It almost never fails that the final scorecard, for the last team to hand in their scorecard, is almost always the lowest score of the tournament. Most of the time, my team ends up losing by 1 shot.

I feel like I may have played in that golf tournament yesterday, metaphorically (and politically) speaking of course.??

I always finish with the highest score so I don’t run into that problem

I have played in a few where we were leading or in the money and waiting a long time for groups to turn in their cards. Only to eventually find out that played like garbage and didn’t want to turn in their card. After that I make it a point to turn them in no matter how bad I play.

This happens in fishing rodeos too when someone has a great fish to submit ... they wait so that everyone is around when they weigh it in.

At least they have a real fish to weigh in this case. The people at the golf scramble are waiting to see what scores they need to put on their card to win the tournament.

Happened in a sorority golf tournament back in college. Group of 4 hackers probably waited 45 min after every other group had come in and magically posted a score 1 shot better than us
