If a guy teaches 2,000 lessons In a year I wound say that’s pretty freaking good. I also know Gordy Rush doesn’t endorse crap. If Gordy says it’s good I trust him.

He will endorse anything that pays him to do it.

I didn't say it was bad. I'm saying there's a difference between "best" and "most" especially given the circumstances Ryan was given.

I called a buddy of mine who teaches at a GolfTEC in Tampa and he said the award is not metric driven. If it were guys in Hong Kong would win every year. Those guys teach around the clock.

Literally, everything at Golftec is metric driven. How else do you think they choose the award? Sales and totals. And it helps that he did that through the flood. Good story, too.

I've done the golftec thing. It's good for what it is and helped me. I've defended it here. And I even said it's a good option in the other thread for someone who needs something quickly simply because it (was) cold and wet with no opportunity to hit things off of a range or at a course. And even Ryan would promote that. He's let me test equipment out of the store before.

I'm a fan of Ryan. I said he worked his tail off and he deserved the award. That doesn't mean I think he's the best in the area. You need to get that golftec dick out of your mouth.

I looked at the resume on the webpage and it looked stronger than new rope.

Let me get this straight. You are claiming Ryan is the best teaching pro in BR but you haven't had a lesson from him?

I am not saying he is best. I am just saying if I hire a contractor I do a little vetting. Same with a potential wife or employee. Who do you reccomend. I will try both and see which is better.

I listen to 104.5 Espn a lot and generally when they personally recommend something it’s pretty good. I have heard Gordy Rush and Matt Muscona both mention they got better there.

I have Friends who have been, who I use to beat, and now these guys are beating me. I just wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions. I am basing it entirely off what’s out there from an information standpoint.

You know they are paid to say that right? And that they get free service for saying those things? Remember the Volkwagen endorsements? The ones that were still happening as Volkswagen had to recall millions of cars for lying to the EPA?

The fact that you're using radio endorsements to suggest a place you've never been to while arguing with someone who's actually been there and experienced the service (while paying for it) is a little questionable, yes?

How can a guy teach 2,000 lessons in a year and not be decent? Wouldn’t you go out of business? And ads are different from personal endorsements. An ad is an ad but when someone says I got better or I saved 2,000 by switching insurance. That’s a personal testimonial now I guess it could be not true. But I know the difference between an ad and a testimonial I graduated LSU in advertising and marketing.

If you're going to keep putting words in my mouth, we can stop this. I never said Ryan wasn't decent.

This has nothing to do with this argument. Lots of businesses stay afloat because they're the only game in town. I'm not saying that's what happens here (although they are), but being in business doesn't always mean you are good at what you do.

You called it an ad first. Regardless... They. Are. Getting. Paid. To. Say. It. Is. Good.

Cool. I graduated pre-k with 8 gold stars.

If a guy tells me he saved 1,200 by switching to relief windows that’s a testimonial not an AD. It’s different.

What the hell are you arguing now? That people aren't paid for their testimonials? That testimonials can't be ads themselves? Or that a testimonial, while true, means nothing without context? "I saved $1200 on my electric bill with relief windows.... over a 2 year span... after upgrading my AC unit too... and we stopped leaving our backdoor open so much... and those trees we planted by the windows are 4 feet taller."

ETA: Gordy Rush "Golftec helped my game and it can help you too... I've also never had lessons before"
