I just booked the initial evaluation and am curious how the experience was for you.
I know a ton of people love Rob, supposed to be one of the best in the state.

I’m interested too. Let us know how your experience goes.

I went to him for about 2.5 years off and on
Was going about 1-2 times per month
Went from 90s to about a 2 handicap
Pros -
All the gadgets a top tier pro has to analyze your game (swing catalyst, k vest, etc)
Disciple of Allen Doyle (TGM) - a lot of his teaching comes from this fundamentals but he continues to learn and use ideas
Easy to talk to... down to earth country guy at heart and loves to hunt
Cons -
Price and distance from BR
He taught Patrick Reed (not really a con but maybe without Rob we wouldn’t have his smug face on TV)

The first half of Eval is an equipment survey, typically with another coach they have on staff. They check your clubs to see if you are fit properly and get some initial swing assessments.
Second part with Rob is just asking what your goals are, what you want to work on, etc. We hit a few 6 irons and and started doing work on the basics like grip, stance, posture, etc. He'll show you the flaws on their video equipment and help with your swing positions and stuff like that.
Their process is definitely more geared to continual learning (ie joining an ongoing program they offer), but you can make it targeted if you want to by doing individual sessions later.
I think they roll over the Initial Evaluation cost into their program fee if you choose to sign up for a longer-term lesson program.

I’ve been. It’s definitely based on continuing lessons.
The first is just an assessment. If you want to get better you’ll have to continue the lessons.

Live in the area and have had many friends go to Rob. He will help your game for sure but it’s going to cost you. Most everyone I know that’s been there had good things to say.
One would always talk about how big of a douche this Patrick kid was. Hated him so much. Of course that kid was Patrick Reed haha. I think he moved to UGA around JR high time. He would always talk about how him and his dad would get in huge screaming arguments on the course in jr tournaments. Always makes me laugh that he’s now a masters champion

Started lessons with Rob and all accounts posted above are accurate. He’s got knowledge, equipment and teaches fundamentals. It’s expensive, but so far I’ve taken two lessons in the package and feel good about my progress.

what specifically have yall been working on?
Has he put you on pressure plates?
What did he tell you in your initial swing evaluation?

Yeah his set up has pressure plates that show where you weight is. It’s helpful. He was able to diagnose my bad habits quickly and is working on my form from the ground up. Basically he said I don’t have a big major change to work on, but I do have a lot of little things to fix. Weight shift from waist down are my issues and I would consider it major changes. It’s basically changing everything, and so far it’s hard to change.

Rob and Pat got into a huge falling out. I can’t get into the details but it was really bad.

He is the most complicated/technical teacher in the state (not close) if your an engineer, rocket scientist he will be perfect for you. He is a million miles from anywhere. I have had lessons from everyone in the state and Brian Manzella is the best.

Teaches fundamentals? He teaches the golf machine which is the most confusing book ever written about
Golf. It was written by an engineer for Boeing air I believe. Highly highly technical if that’s your thing you will love it.
