Complete opposite for me.

I video'd my driver swing to try and figure out what I was doing and can't. I guess I just don't understand the golf swing enough. I compared frame by frame positions with "correct" images but still hit high and towards the toe on my club face with a slight slice.

Really open club face with an out to in swing path and just about anything will slice.

Yet he said he couldn't spot it on video. I'd love to see that swing to see what he's doing.

See all the wear is towards the toe and middle to high and most of my tee shots start at the target and then dive right 20-30 yards. kills my distance.

I dont think i will ever read a "what are you struggling with" thread again.

I feel like a hypochondriac who is on LSD-25.

Clubface is obviously sweeping and open at impact. Could be a number of things.

I'll send you the video. Another set of eyes can't hurt.

I'm no pro, but I don't mind looking at it.

As long as everyone kept it constructive, I'd be all for it.

Just looked at it.

Couple things...

Your clubface is pointed at the sky at the top of your backswing. I'd say that you're having to do a lot of work to get it back to square from that point.

Your grip could be a lot of it. Try "weakening" it. See below:

There are a lot of factors here, though. I found this decent article about clubface and hand position if you want to check it out:

WRX Article

Another thing I noticed was your takeaway. Looks like you're bringing it back a little too far outside which gets you setup for the slice from the get-go. I'd practice taking some 60% swings working on a flatter takeaway to get the feel for a more inside takeaway.

Again, I'm no pro, so TIFWIW. Hope it helps

I'll agree I have a strong grip because my goal is to hit a draw, can't do that with a weak grip according to pros and I've been practing rolling my left forearm over a little early and focusing on the right elbow staying tucked to help with the outside takeaway but I'm still coming over the top.

Yep. Maybe try shortening the takeaway to mitigate it some?

I feel like my action and tempo is good so a shorter backswing would make me feel like I have to swing harder on the downswing to still get distance?

Haha. Appreciate the input. I've never had a lesson so I may tell the wife that's what I need for Father's Day. Let someone do some hands on adjustment so I cal feel what's correct compared to what I'm doing.
