Applied for Open tickets and received Monday and Thursday allotment. First time ever applying and curious to know if these are hard to come by. Figured they would be easier than the Master's but didn't know I would win first time trying.

They must be pretty easy to get. I got Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday tickets. Went ahead and purchased mine, and I I'd wait and see if I could make the trip at a later date.

When does registration typically open up for this for future reference? Can you put your email down somewhere to get an alert?

Not sure, received a notification for tickets not long after the open concluded. If you download their app you will start receiving emails for it.

It opens the day after The Open concludes and remains open for like a month. Then, they start letting people know mid-August or so if their ballot was chosen. They do the “hey you got picked” thing in waves, I believe.
There’s a link somewhere on The Open website to get an email reminder to throw your name in the hat.

Got tickets about 4 weeks ago for Wednesday & Thursday. I need to start the trip planning soon. I assume that they will provide some sort of shuttle to Portrush from Belfast.
