re: Tee height on irons for par 3

I think it really depends on how you hit your irons. If you take deep divots, you can probably get away with no or a low tee, but if you pick it clean and dont really take divots you're probably better off with a tee.

Also something else not mentioned. If I need to hug a hard draw at a tucked pin I always find that it’s easier to turn one over with a little higher tee.

Stats don’t lie. Teeing it up has a higher percentage of greens hit. Science.
For the vast majority of golfers, yes. Not for some though.

I don’t like using tees at all with my irons
Shake off the haters, there are a few of us.
I've found more accuracy and consistency with distance without a tee as long as it's a good tee box and you can give yourself an ideal lie. It ensures I'm still hitting down on the ball while keeping it under any wind just like every other iron I hit throughout the round, as opposed to sometimes accidentally sweeping it which I'm prone to do when it's on a tee. Might just be a mental thing, but tees with irons mess me up more often than not, especially anything 6 iron or less.
Also, none of us are Tiger, Jack, or Arnie. Take their tips that work for you, and don't worry about the ones that don't.

you probably also still have all blades too you badass
Why do you think I’m trying to be a “badass” by having a personal preference to not use tees? If I hit the ball more consistently with one, I would use tees.
Also, no I’ve never owned blades.

Heard one pro describe it like this... "If I am playing lift, clean, and place, and I placed my ball on a tee, everyone would say that I am cheating. Therefore, it must be an advantage to tee the ball up."
If I took an illegal stance for any and every putt such as "straddling the line" like in croquet, that would be cheating too, but it doesn't mean my putting would be any better than it is right now (and almost surely worse). Maybe it would for someone else, idk, but that's beside the point.
The point is, teeing up irons is probably an advantage for most people, but it surely is not an advantage for all people depending on technique, psychology, etc., and that's ok.

How long did you stay on the tee simulator before deciding? :)

I kinda do this and maybe club up one. Helps me hold the green better in the off chance that I actually hit it. If its 145, I'll try and hit my 155 club high and easy. But it should be noted that I've been playing for only a year and still figuring all this stuff out.

I have a tendency to hit my irons low and long, so on a lot of par 3’s I will tee it up higher and encourage myself to hit a higher soft shot.
And like someone else said, a higher tee makes it easier to get a draw when it is called for
