Started playing again with work and my old clubs are in another state. They are ping eye 2s and they are at least 20 years old. What should I buy to start out with, or should I just pay to ship the old ones. TIA

I know a couple of scratch golfers who still play their old Pings eye2s.

Ping eye 2s are the shite. Stick with those and use the money to upgrade the driver, woods, wedges and putter. The driver will be the area of greatest technological improvement.

Any ping irons will be good if you are looking to get a new set of the other ones are too big a pain to get.
I play G15s and I can't imagine there are any "better" clubs for a beginner/intermediate player. Some may feel better than others, but ping makes fantastic irons since the Eye 2 especially. You still see them once in a while in ppls bags for a reason

I kick my self for getting rid of my Eye2's. Played the best golf when I was playing those.

Get some PXG irons and a GX7 driver

GX7? Sounds fancy, I'm looking for something that I hit as far as my driver but consistently like my irons. Let me know if you hear of anything. Oh, if it has an annoying PING sounds...even better

I always wondered about this myself
I just started picking up golf in the last 2 years.
My brother bought me a whole set at Wal-Mart (the kind that comes in the bag) and said to use them until I shoot under 100, then start buying my clubs individually.
I already bought a Nike driver

Any Ping product will be good, may have to re-grip
