This game will give you ulcers, costs far more than we should pay to play it.

It’s definitely an abusive mistress. But every once in a while it works. I didn’t even putt that well on the putting green, but on the course?

The Senator. Started on the back 9

10 - tough 2 putt over a ridge
11 - nasty downhill 20 footer….bang
12 - 8 foot downhill slider….bang
13 - left a 40 footer short
14 - 15 foot right to left…bang
15 - 60 foot 6 foot left to right downhill…bang
16 - 10 foot left to right…bang

About a 100 feet of putts and 6 birdies in 7 holes to open the round. No it didn’t stay that good but how in the devil do I go from missing 2 putts inside 5 feet yesterday and not making anything outside 8 feet to knocking down putt after putt today.

This crazy game we love sometimes gives back.

On Mothers' Day, I went out and played with 2 buddies at my local course. We played the tips and I shot a 76. Fast Forward a week and I can barely break 90 and have absolutely no feel to my swing at all. If you asked my what my swing was on Mothers Day, I couldn't even tell you. I have been at the range for the past 2 days trying to find it again to no avail. Probably changed my swing 5x in the past 2 days to get the feeling back. My HDCP is a 5.

^This is why I think of golf as an “addiction” on a good day, and a “mental illness” on a bad day.
