Snell Golf Balls, First impressions

I ordered a dozen of the Snell MTB-X and the Black model balls in Yellow on Saturday and I got them today.
Petty awesome turnaround for free FedEx shipping.
In addition, My receipt was personalized by Dean Snell thanking me for the purchase, very nice touch and class move.
I took a sleeve of each to our putting green for about 30 minutes, it is hot here in Texas !
Both balls felt good off the putter (Ping Tyne #4) and rolled true.
I was really concerned about what the Yellow cover would look like because there are some hideous yellow hue balls out there. These are identical to the ProV1 yellow color, a huge plus for me.
Since I played yesterday, If I don't play this weekend, I am playing Blackhawk GC in Sugarland Tx next week which is always windy and long, it will be a good test for the balls.
I will post an additional thread once I have played. I am a 8 HCP and my Buddy is a 13 hcp, we will both try out each ball.

First impressions....I’ll let you know when I actually hit them. Quality review.

I actually thought that it might be helpful to know that Snell did what they said about getting them to their customers in 2 business days which is great in our Covid world at the moment, along with the owner hand signing the invoice.
Sorry you didn't value the info.

I bought some last year and they were short for me which made zero sense.
They were great around the green though and nice off the putter.
Z Star was about 15 yards longer for my particular launch.
I need to try then one more time though, I might try the MTB X

I've tried both the MTB-X (blue box) and the black box Snells. MTB-X was as long as pro V1 with driver; blacks were a good 20 yards shorter. My drive carry is 230.

Is this going to be a 10 part review? Dont be the Golf Board TulaneLSU.
Just bustin' ya balls, baw. I am a huge fan of the MTB Black. Feels good to not have to guess which ball is best for me anymore.

I’m with you on them being short. I bought a pack of the MBT— I for sure hit a Srixson longer.
I tested against the current K-sigs and then a Q Star ( I think it was a Q).
My thoughts:
Distance: Q, then Snell, then K sig
Around the green : K sig, then Snell, then Q
I’m an 8.6 playing like a 11.5 right now.

yea the blues were short for me as well, I hit the Z Star a good 20 yards longer.
I was pissed because I wanted to switch to cut down on price a little bit but the blues didnt give me a reason to leave the Z Stars.

Z Stars are 2 for 1 right now if anyone hits them

I love the MTB-X. Half a club longer for me than anything else I've tried (at least that's not named TaylorMade TP5-X). I've shot 2 career low rounds in the last 3 months with the MTB-X.

The MTB-X were the longest ball in the MyGolfSpy comprehensive ball test last year. They were also one of the highest spinning balls around the greens. Google it and you can see all the data for just about every “premium” golf ball.
I’m working my way through a couple dozen of them. They are longer than a Pro-V1X off the tee, and they spin really well with short irons and wedges. The have a higher traj but do curve a bit more than the Pro-V1X

FWIW, I've found that I should hit the MTB-X but get better all around play with the Black. I dont trust the website description very much.
But the ball is excellent.

It’s all I play now... just got stocked up yesterday on MTB-X yellows.... you typically get them within 2-3 days.
