Would be impossible for me to do imo. Started playing competitively in 7th grade I think and it's pretty much taught me to keep track of every person you're playing with score just as a natural part of the game. Rarely even use a score card when I'm playing by myself.

Same, minus the competitive golf as a youth. I always know where I stand to par in a round. Most of the time I know how many shots I'm ahead or behind my playing partners. I'm too OCD and math oriented to NOT know. It just comes naturally. Do people keep track of their strokes on a particular hole, then just forget about what they scored come the next hole? I just always know where I am in a round. 2 birdies, 2 bogeys and a double, so I'm +2. Does that negatively affect me when I know I'm even through 16? Maybe. But I'm never not gonna know.

I’m on the breaking 80 grind myself. I’ve come so close with 3 or 4 81’s. It’s hard to not get frustrated because everyone of those 81’s could’ve been a 79 with just one bad shot (hazard, etc.) being just a decent one. I try to just block it out and think to myself that I’m close enough to where it’ll just happen one day. Can’t let myself want it too bad
