Rules Question

This is probably a dumb question, but gunna ask it anyways.
Playing a tournament in 2 weeks, and if the weather pattern continues, we'll probably be playing lift, clean, and place.
When you place the ball back onto the ground after cleaning it, can you line the ball up on your target line (just like you were lining it up to putt on the green)?

You can place it Anywhere within 1 club. I don’t know of any reason that you can not line it up.
The pros will use old divots or ball marks on the fairway to tee up the ball.
I have seen it in person on a par 5.
Lift, clean, place to a perfectly teed up lie.

There's nothing against it as far as I'm aware

That's quite cheeky. I've never heard of anyone trying that. I wouldn't trust myself to line it up straight though.
ETA: USGA Rules
There is nothing in the rules against it.

With the new triple-track stuff on the callaway balls, it made me think about it. I don't think I'd be able to line it up straight either, but better than nothing I guess lol
