His point was that they’re always there. In fact, his quote said that they were better this year. He said there were fewer than normal.

Rory was getting his monster drives on 9, 2, and 5 mostly. I think all of his drives on 9 ended up in the top 10 of the tournament.

You’re right, the course was dried out. It was like concrete out there, I think every player in the field complained about it

You were wrong about the dates of the rain. You were wrong about the amount of rain Friday. You were wrong about the point Spieth was making. You are now wrong about me claiming it was concrete. On a roll.

Only thing I got wrong was that it rained Tuesday instead of Monday. Brandell told McGinley that it poured Friday night. The rain totals at the airport don’t mean that’s what the course also got. Ive seen it rain an inch in one place and nothing 5 miles away. And if the course was dried out then the mud balls that are usually there on those holes wouldn’t be anymore, that part of the course would just be not as dry

The course wasn’t dried out, end of story

I gave you Speith’s quote. It’s not my fault you choose not to understand it.

I also have access to weather station data from less than a tenth of a mile from the course. It registered a total of 0.13” that night. It never rained harder than 0.31”/hour. Pineview AGS WS if you feel like looking for it. Rory’s longest drive was 371yds on Friday morning… about 10 hours after it rained. It didn’t carry that far…

When it doesn’t rain, they probably use more than 0.10” of water on the fairways every day.

I understood the quote. I’m saying that a dried out course would mean the spots that are usually that soft wouldn’t be soft enough to produce mud balls at that point. The term dried out means it’s a lot drier than normal, which wouldn’t still give you mud balls. He wasn’t saying that there are mud balls under any condition

Again, the point is that the course wasn’t dried out

Why do you think Jordan only mentioned 11 and 13? What’s unique about those holes? They are different from the rest of the course how? The course can have dried out but those two would stay wetter longer… hmmmm.

I know why he mentioned them, you’re arguing something completely different than what I’m saying. The course wasn’t dried out, doesn’t matter how you keep trying to explain it. In fact, the course wasn’t even a little dry much less dried out

The average driving distance was up 7 yards overall this year according to datagolf.

Rory’s driving average:

Thursday: 314
Friday: 320
Saturday: 340
Sunday: 342

The field:

Thursday: 296
Friday: 291
Saturday: 300
Sunday: 300

There’s not a single piece of information you can point to that shows the course was wet on the weekend other than Spieth complaining about mud balls on 2 holes that always stay that way because they’re at the lowest point of the course with the most shade and the creek/tributary running along them. And his complaint even said that it was better than normal. What else you got?

By dried out I mean that it wasn’t soft by its usual standards or after a decent rain. It was perfect and the roll outs were available.

That’s a lot of words to say you were wrong and the course wasn’t dried out

Definitely. Rory just pulled an extra 25 yards out of his arse for the weekend.

Probably just ate a couple of adderall on the weekend for some extra juice

I was there Sunday. The course was dry. Not hard as a tabletop. But it was dry. Only saw a little wet in the spectator areas along the13th fairway in a couple of spots.

I’m not claiming it was wet, I’m just saying it wasn’t dried out and hard. He apparently didn’t mean it was that way to begin with, so that’s it
