That Callaway has a great magnet too.

I honestly don't use the windage on the range finder. It syncs local weather apps with your GPS location and doesn't particularly give you the most accurate wind speed where you are precisely. If it's gusting, it doesn't really convey that information.

The mapping is incredibly convenient though. Knowing distances to hazards especially on new courses is priceless. It has a feature where you can plug in your driver distance, and it'll plot where your driver will land if you get the distance right. Has markers on the screen to show you how far to hit to get 100 yards from the hole.

It's nice on holes where you can't see the pin from the tee box. You don't have to have line of sight to the pin to know distances. It shows you distances to the front middle and back of the green wherever you are.

There are a couple of small trivial things I think they could change for the better. You can't attach a magnetic case to it. I think the magnet interferes with the GPS so makes logical sense. It comes with a carrying case, and a carribeaner clip. It's not convenient for placing it somewhere handy on the cart. You can get a separate piece for the bag that you can velcro the carry case to the cart and keep it handy when you need it. But it's a $20 annoying little cost for a cheap piece of plastic and velcro.

The other small thing is when you have holes running parallel to each other and end up on a different hole's fairway, the distance to the green is displayed for the fairway you end in, and you don't have a simple way of getting the unit to read the green you're going for. So for example if 9 and 10 are next to each other, you're playing 9 but pull your drive to 10, the garmin gives you distance to the 10th green instead of the 9th.

I have heard mixed results with the Blue Tees model.

I've read the same reviews with the Blue Tees. Pretty inexpensive unit ultimately and if it works, great. The only experience I've had with one is a guy I golfed with once. His was shooting some very erratic distances consistently. His never gave a comparable distance as the Garmin or TecTecTec I was using. I'm guessing the low price has to do with a number of things including a shoddy QA model. I'm guessing they have mostly good units with a higher percentage (compared to other brands) of lemons mixed out there. Catchy commercials though.

I did a review on Blue Tees. Would not recommend them.
I do still use it (it was free), but I can not always depend on the distance. You can shoot the same target 3 times and get drastically different yardages.

I have the latest model blue tees and love it. If you are getting drastically different numbers most likely you are shooting something behind the flag or target. At least in my experience and comparing it with more expensive models

Glad you found one that works. The manufacturer sent me an original and a replacement, admitting they had production issues on the first model. Second one was not any better. Hey, it gets me in the vicinity. I'm not good enough to worry about 3 yards. The point is a range finder has one job, accurate yardage. If it can't do that, then you wasted money.

Geeeeez, not shooting something behind the flag. Myself, my friends, and all the other bad reviews would say that it is off.

Glad yours works. Enjoy.
