Did swing by the local Dick’s sporting goods tonight. Not a huge selection but I did play around with the Ping Sigma 2 Tyne Stealth, TM Spider X hydro, and the new Spider GT. Really liked the Ping and Spider GT. Ping was listed for $219 and the GT was $349. Holding off a little longer to try some different putters.

You should also look at Bettinardi
I also did a fitting so I knew I needed a slant neck. I have the Queen B6 SBS and love it. It’s a mid-mallet.

I have a Spider X, Toulon Portland, Futura 7M - my favorite out of those was the Spider and I gamed it for a couple of years until recently. I just traded in some old clubs and got a new Phantom X11. Best putter I've ever hit. It was something that could finally knock the Spider out of the bag.
I love the Spider though and would have zero issues going back to it. I bought mine used off of eBay for around $200 - it was basically in mint condition.

The only reason I didn’t pull the trigger on either one of the Spiders last night is that I also really liked how the Ping felt. I’m going to visit one of the local pro shops today and see what they have.

Get an 8802 or similar style putter. When you can consistently make puts with it out to 10-12 feet, then go buy whatever feels good, though I’d suggest a face balanced mallet style.
When my putting gets off, I pull out the blade and get the stroke back. Everything gets easier if your stroke is solid, and an 8802 style will make you get better.
Unless you wrap it around a tree in frustration. Been there, done that.

Found a putter today. I went back to dick’s to get some golf balls and they had a few more putters in stock. I ended up trying the Odyssey White Hot OG 7S with stroke lab shaft (what ever that means). After about 10-15 putts, I was hooked on the putter. It was a tough decision because I really like the Spiders but the Odyssey felt just a little bit smoother for me.

Try out the Phantom X anyway to see if you like it. I have one and it’s my gamer. New is out of your range, but if you like it, you can find a great condition used for around $300. See them posted on FB all the time.
Edit - didn’t see the update. Congrats on the new putter

I’ll second the putter fitting. Sounds cheesy and wasn’t sold on the idea at first, but I ended up doing one and was very happy with the data they showed me. Realized I needed some toe hang which I would have never figured out myself. Gives me even more confidence standing over putts now, which in my mind is a huge part in putting. Was playing a Scotty for years and now play a Toulon

Thanks. I really wanted to try the Phantom but none of the places I looked had any in stock.

Just switched to bettinardi blade from
Spider x.
Significantly improved my speed control and lag putting which was killing me but hard to beat the balance and confidence the web slinger gave inside 10 feet.

Where did you get fitted for a putter? I’m looking to get fitted for a putter. I’m in the Baton Rouge area. TIA

Sub 70 TAIII Wide Blade
I was a putter whore until I married this beauty about 2 years ago.
It firmly kicked Phantom 5.5 out of the bag. My four-ball partner has sworn that he would break any other putter I showed up with to a tournament that we play.
For $179 it is hard to beat!!!

Straight back and through stroke, face balanced putter. Center shaft Scotty Cameron.
Slight arc stroke, toe balanced putter, heel shafted Scotty Cameron or equivalent.

Try a “torque balance” putter.
I got an Edel out of curiosity and did not like it. Would say if you want to go this route, get fitted for one that is specifically for you. Don't just go for specs on these.

I just got my second Spider X. This one is the Blast interactive version. Love practicing in the house / carpet. App is a pretty good training guide.

Ordered one today, thanks for the share. At that price and a 60-day no questions asked refund guarantee, definitely worth a shot to try out. I got the same putter but not the TAIII version with the custom LV engraving. It was $169. Got the double bend, 34".

Look for something that minimizes your misses. For me , it was speed control and inconsistent stroke. I settled on Cobra putters because they’re cheaper Siks and the faces just perform
