It's a real nice driver, just didn't have the distance or the sound for me. Was about 10-15 yards shorter than the Epic Max.

Super, super accurate though. Can see why people like it.

I hit a demo of this in Golf Galaxy the other day. I was popping them 300 every swing except bad mishits. A few over 320. Would love to compare it side by side with my Tistlist.

who knows outside. I typically hit the ball a long ways. Not MHD length, but I can pop em out there

Jason Day has put the Ping 425 LST driver in play this week.

I have to laugh when people say that it is not as long as the other drivers. Guys like Champ, Finau, Bubba, Vitkor, English and tons more bomb Ping drivers every week. I don't think that they would play a club that costs them distance.

It's not like Ping pays their staff a lot of money compared to other companies.

Laugh that I said it wasn't as far for me? Pretty sure that happens for a lot of people and I didn't love the sound. The Callaway was 10-15 yards better for me, and that was against literally every other head out right now. Not a big deal man.

I said I can see why so many people like it and how accurate it was.

Besides, those guys can hit a shovel 250, it's all splitting hairs at that level and I'm sure most of them prefer an accurate driver vs bomber besides Bryson.

Not laughing at you STLHog at all, just in general because there are some many factors involved in picking a driver.

I have had the chance to hit all or most of the new drivers now.

The Titleist TSI3 counting the roll was the longest for me. But I don't feel like I want to play golf with it . It takes some effort for me.

Looks, sound and feel play some much into drivers. Myself I don't like the muted feel of the TaylorMade drivers, even though they are popular.

I am a tall guy and for some reason Callaway Drivers including the Max look flat to me, even though I'm sure their not.

I am picking up my G425 on Monday with the Rogue 130 shaft. I am willing to bet that I will end up putting my Tensi Blue 60 TX shaft in it at some point, just love that shaft.

Hope you shoot some great scores with your new driver, Cheers !

No worries man.

Also not a big Callaway guy but it bombed and felt great. Probably be fine with any of the heads with that shaft though. At $500, it better perform.

Something to consider before comparing anything to the pros - them baws can strike the ball almost as pure as the robot used to test the clubs. Therefore, they'll see maximum peak performance and there really wont be much drop off between manufacturers when it comes to the pros.

Amateurs will absolutely see yardages change depending on the head/shaft/knowledge combo.

For sure.

Big reason the Callaway was so good for me. My smash factor was 1.46 vs closer to 1.4 with my M6 and most of the other club heads.

For whatever reason...

It sucks for the person.

But I am hearing that some really nice golf clubs are ending up in pawn shops right now.

If you have the time, you can find some outrageous bargins.
