Well it finally happened. Elite Golf out of Las Vegas will assume management of the golf course starting Nov. 1. Supposedly they specialize in golf course turnarounds.
They will be walking into one hell of a turnaround. I wish them all the luck in the world but they definitely will have their hands full.
No word yet on who or if any of the current management will be retained.

Was there supposed to be some improvements and tweaks done or am I thinking about another course?

Can they take over ACC and reopen it? I loved that course.

I heard that 1.5 million was allocated by the England Authority for course improvements, however the money was to be held until new management took over.

Going to fix bunkers, drainage on hole 7, and smooth out fairways on 14 and 15

7 needed big time. The roughness on 14/15 is really odd. Was told it was caused by a pest.

Roughness on 14 & 15 in my opinion is because that area of the course was previously all concrete or part of the tarmac when it was an air base. Some of the money should now go to repair 1,2 & 3 greens.

Never knew that about 14 and 15. Makes sense because when it is dry the balls hits and rolls forever

That would have to be the business strategy. Doubt a management company would be successful in marketing themselves as one that doesn’t do anything, which most are really.

Played yesterday. The good greens were really good. The bad ones were much better. I only had to putt through repair areas once, on #2.

That green stays bad. Needs to be priority #1

I heard Campo is gone. Umbrellas on the range as if this is Las Vegas

Feels like he’s been there forever. What happened? Got too complacent?

If true it would have been the new company's call. I really don't know why other than there was no room for both he and Robbie. I can't remember the last time I saw Craig doing anything there other than sneak in a little fishing in the ponds

Robbie G won’t be there long. He will eventually tell new management to go f-ck themselves.

Anyone played Oakwing lately? Wondering how the new management has fared in fixing the course over the winter months.

I’m playing there Tuesday, 2/22. Will be happy to post a report after…

Follow up on 2/22, doing lots of tree work, cutting limbs, removing problem trees. Greens are better, not as many bad spots, but rolled well, and moderately fast. Bunkers still need lots of work, lots. Was very windy today, dodged a few raindrops, but looked like had a fair amount of players…
