Rick Shiels did a review on these recently - most of it for now centered around the JPX 921 Tour. He said he'll do Forged, HM PRO, and HM later.

Will be interesting to see how the new TaylorMade P770 stacks up against the JPX 921 Forged and HM Pro models. I feel like that's the sweet spot for low-mid cappers and many will be looking at those 3 models.

Really like the looks of the HM Pro.

So fire. I'm a Mizuno irons loyalist. I just got a set of 919 forged to replace my 919 hot metal, but I have no problems splurging for these if they are for real.

What are your thoughts on this change? I figure I'll be in between the forged and the HM Pro.

Based on that article with them making the forged head bigger and the HM Pro smaller, its kind of hard to differentiate them.

I have some 919 Forged as well. Awesome awesome irons. You can play them if you're like a 15 hdcp

I've gotten to a pretty confident state striking irons and wedges.

Def. looking to upgrade more towards workability and feel, I think the HM Pro or the Forged are the next step in that direction. Based on that article, I hope the changes theyve made haven't negatively affected the Forged, as it sounds like the 919s are known to be butter but lack a little distance. I want feel and control, distance isn't really my issue. I've hit the 919s and they're amazing in the bay.

I have some older Clevelend CGs, they're not outrageous like some of the GI irons and starting to get annoyed with the size etc at address. Can see why the smaller ones are more appealing once you're confident in your ball striking.

I cut my teeth on some old Titleist DCI irons so I just prefer a relatively thin top line on my irons, 919 forged gives me that look with a little cavity back for the mishits

also on the 919s lacking a little distance, could be that the lofts aren't particularly strong compared to GI irons or SGI irons

100% this... the hot metals are the strongest lofted, followed by the forged and then the tours. The tours are insanely weak, pretty much a whole club difference vs the hot metals. Meaning a hot metal 7 iron is basically a tour 6 iron. The forged are 1-2 weaker compared to hot metal. I had all my forged bent 1 strong to match my hybrid and wedge gapping.

The tour looks amazing, would totally get them if I could hit them.

I like the 919 forged more than the 921’s that’s just me though.

Do you think the price of the 919’s will drop much now that these have come out?

I think I read somewhere they are totally out of stock and won’t be making more but that might be only for custom orders. You may be able to find an off the rack set at an online retailer or eBay

Ah, if I’m getting a new set of Mizuno anything it would be custom. I’m due for a new set. Apparently engagement rings take precedent... fml

Lol yeah. Try manhattan golf USA (where I ordered my 919s) +1 lie angle, modus 3 105 shafts with tour velvet midsize grips. I haven’t hit my irons this good in years

Both of my local shops say they can't keep them around either.

Looking forward to getting fitted to a set this fall.
