Seriously considering joining Bayou Oaks city Park in New Orleans soon. Is anyone here a member there and how has the experience been?

Not a member but a couple friends are. They love it, but none of them are guys who really practice. They just like to play.

If you’re a guy who is going to go grind and hit buckets of balls and then go work on short game there’s prob better options.

Go to TPC instead.

Better course and much better practice facility

They keep raising their passholder rate and are cutting back on expenses (barely see the cart girl in this heat)

TPC is almost $2000 more for the year. Believe me I’d love to join there but I had enough trouble convincing my wife to let me do the young professional membership at bayou oaks.

I do the weekday pass, Monday-Thursday. Works for me and I easily can get my money’s worth out of it. I think it was 2700 this year. You can use the practice facility any day which is nice

Depends on how much you play and practice.

They’ve really turned me off over the last 6-9 months. Jacked up their greens fees and are even charging $72 for a “Daily Deal” to play at noon on Saturday in June.

At those rates, you have to play about three times a month for a year to justify it.

Unless you’re going to get a number of extra rounds in during the week days, you’re better off searching for deals online for all of the area munis.

I assume they are still doing seasonal pricing. Summer is usually the most expensive. In January I was getting Friday afternoon rounds for like $43

I get the seasonal pricing. But base rate for a round used to be $81. It’s now $90 or so.

I guess supply and demand keeps the prices high. I just have a hard time seeing how South Course is worth anything over a $60 base rate considering the overall condition they keep the course in.
