Plan now is to go to PGA Superstore and get a studio fitting. Anyone have any experience with that?

Are they knowledgeable and do they put any effort into helping you find the right shafts?

I’m interested in the new line if Titleist irons. Would 1 fitting be enough time to thoroughly test those AND everything else on the market? Are they open to combo sets?

I was fitted for some Mizunos in 2010 and have used them ever since. I say that to say I’m going to be using these new irons for YEARS and would like the best possible fitting experience I can possibly get.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The PGA Superstore in Katy Tx has really upped thier game in the last 2 years, I'd assume they all have.

Huge selection of shafts and clubheads and 2 really good fitters on Staff.

Gene Potter was the Mizuno Rep for years, knows his stuff and a great guy.

How many shots would you want to compare each setup/shaft/head/lie angle/lofts?

You probably could sort it out at some fitting days or several sessions in a bay.

You sort of know what suits you. Find a fitter who will work through the shaft options on the various Titliest models.

I was fitted for my driver at my local PGA Superstore and it was a great experience. I’d imagine an iron fitting is much more involved than a single club fitting like driver, though?

I can’t remember a single thing from my first and only fitting 13 years ago.

I would advise checking Titleist website and seeing if there is a rep doing fittings in your area any time soon. The cost is $100. If you buy clubs, that rolls into the iron cost. You get to hit off grass and they have way more Titleist options to let you try. I did one recently, it was a great experience.

This is the way.
