Install golf grips with no tape

Now that we have air compressor attachments and grip design that allows installation without tape or solution -- is it still necessary to wrap them, wet them, and let them dry? Yes I know it is more secure, but I am wondering if it is truly needed, or just something continued for habits sake. I used PURE until they went out of business. I want to know what made their grips so different from Golf Pride that no adhesive was needed.

Call me a traditionalist, but I’m going to keep using the two sided tape. I customize my wraps too much to feel like I’d get them not to twist or slip otherwise.

Perrino's Shoe Glue and a good masking tape. Gives you time to adjust the new grip for line up, asthetics, and you can use the club 10 minutes after you finish.

I use painters tape but don’t need any solvent. I’ve never had problems and you can use the club immediately

I misspoke. I use the wide masking tape not painters tape, but it is not double sided. I’m sure blue painters tape would work just as well. You can use a little mineral spirit as lube if you need, but don’t put much as it can make the tape slimy and the grips will slip.

I have Pure on my clubs and no tape. My grips aren’t lined up anymore. Obvious slippage. I’m going to go back to tape.
