Inconsistency after upgrading grip size

I recently regripped my clubs from standard to midsize plus4. I didn’t go to the range after regripping and jumped straight into a round. Big mistake apparently as all my irons bled out into a slice.
Is this common when using larger grips or was my swing just dogshit today? Or both

larger grips will make it harder to turn the face over. For me it really helped going to midsize. I have larger hands and always played standard. My iron miss was a dead pull. I still have that shot, but its much harder to do.

Midsize helps tame my hook a bit.
If you’re losing it right try adding a little more grip pressure to the bottom hand.

That’s what I’m reading online too. I went from a standard to plus4 midsize as I have large hands. Maybe it was too big of a jump.

I did the same. Give it a little time. You may have to intentionally square the face at first. Other thing I would suggest is to make sure your grip is in the correct lines of your hands. The larger grip could be making a weaker grip feel more natural.

Same thing happened to me after regripping with some midsize Dri-Tacs.
I'd love to tell you I got used to it but I didn't

Did you go back down to standard?

I did.
Everything went back to normal instantly. I've always played a small draw with my irons since high school

Those who switched to Midsize, do you use a Palm Grip? I use a Finger Grip and have to use standard.

I also use finger grip. I’m swapping back to tour velvet standard this week. I actually thought the MCC were slippery.

Same happened to me recently, I went midsize also. Summer time I felt like the club was slipping in my hands although I was playing pretty well. Getting better with it. Actually changed driver to a jumbo grip today. Trying it tomorrow…
