Last year I was looking into finding a better set of irons for my shitty swing. After reading several recommendations here I decided to get fitted. I wanted to go to Impact Precision in Spring TX but getting an appointment with Trevor on a Saturday was about a 2-3 Month wait. So I decided to go to Club Champion that was only 2-3 week wait for a Saturday appointment. Club Champion fitted me into a set of Srixon ZX5s with a True Temper XP95 R300 shaft vs my old set of Mizuno MP 52s. The Srixons were definitely easier to hit but they always felt too heavy for me once I was able to play a couple of months with them. After hitting some friends different irons, they all seemed lighter and easier to swing, so I decided to book a fitting with Impact precision to see if my Srixons were the best set up for me. Trevor no longer works in Saturday’s so I booked with Major and explained that I wanted to check the specs on my Srixons. He checked the swingweight of the Srixons and they were D5. He put together a ZX5 set up in a D2 and I immediately gained 5mph swing speed and an additional 10 feet in height. After figuring out the issue, Major gave me a couple of options to fix the Srixons. I decided to see what he thought the best irons for me would be. He eventually got me into a set of Titileist T200s with MMT Graphite shafts. I gained 20yards and 25feet additional height and 5mph faster swing speed vs my current Srixons. I wasn’t looking to buy new irons but now I’m $1500 poorer. I thought club champion did a good job with my fitting but Major at Impact seemed more knowledgeable at fittings and I like the idea of having my clubs built locally and having him set them up to my specific specs. Plus I’d rather support a locally owned business than a national chain store that builds their clubs out of Chicago.
Now the 6-8 week wait lol

At least you paid 150% for the shitty fitting at Club Champion.

He's fit me the last 4 years. Definitely knows his stuff and won't try to sell you a new club if there's only minimal performance gain. It's expensive but I can't compare it to Club Champion.

Glad Major was able to help you.

You will love the MMT shafts, I sure do.

I have heard way too many horror stories about the Houston location of Club Champion.

I’ll have to save up money and get fitted for some hybrids and maybe a Driver from Major.

I got fitted for irons at Club Champion.

Learned a good bit. Got some Rogue ST Max irons and got advice to add 3/4 of an inch to the length.

I bought the irons and got similar aftermarket shafts from Callaway directly, instead of through CC.

My handicap has gone down 9 strokes since March. I am taking lessons and am in a game improvement phase, so obviously have had room to drop, but the fitting itself was worth the money for me.

This board recommended Major and I’m glad I listened. Major was great. I first got the specs of the clubs and was going to buy elsewhere but after searching for a week I called them and just ordered through them.
