Hot Springs Village

Spent 5 days there last week and played a couple of the 8 courses they have on property. They have 9 but 1 is private. Played Cortez and Granada.
Granada might be the most pristine and beautiful course I've ever played. Its Bermuda fairways and bent grass greens / collars. Even the damn tee boxes were absolutely perfect. The elevation changes were insane and there was a waterfall that ran down from the clubhouse through the entire 18th hole.
Just a heads up. Area would make a damn good golf trip. We took the kids and stayed on Lake Balboa so only got to play 2 of the courses.

Thanks for this info as me and some buddies are talking about a trip there. Accommodations on Lake Balboa nice?

friends I went to school with are retired and moved up there a few years ago...they are after me to move up there but they love every thing about the area...fishing golf dirt bike riding rafting....the weather...

You can stay on the lake thirty minutes from the courses closer to Hot Springs and have access to the races and the casino. Unfortunately, it’s going to blow up before I can afford a Lake House in the area

It’s all homes that you rent through VRBO, AirBNB, etc.. they are all nice. The area overall is very nice.
I regret not playing Isabella over Cortez. Cortez was good with a mountain view big drop par 3 17th but apparently not s good as Isabella.

We looked at saying on Lake Hamilton, but it was the 4th weekend and they were expecting THOUSANDS of boats on that lake. We had a pontoon boat and pulled the kids on tubes, so picked Balboa instead. If there were 10 other boats on that lake, that was plenty. Sure, enough we went see the Chapel on the 4th and it was like an enormous frat party on water on Hamilton, so we made the right choice for us.

Went on a group trip back in April. Played Coronado, Balboa, Granada, and all 27 holes of Isabella.
We loved it. Isabella was a close second behind Granada. 3 different sets of 9 holes. The staff at all courses were absolutely fantastic. We thought we might run into some grumpy guys being that it is a retirement community, but everyone was great.
Coronado and Balboa weren't in the same tier as the others, but not horrible courses.
They allowed/encouraged us to pack our own ice chests with alcohol since they did not have cart girls which surprised us.
The whole area up there is great and such a different feel from anything down here. Highly recommend.

We chose Cortez because of tee time availability. We are there early July and a noon round just wasn't that appealing while in a heat wave.
They said Ponce and Cortez were 3 & 4 behind Granada and Isabella. Balboa was the easiest to walk as the elevation changes were minimal.
To be honest, I could have just played Granada both rounds and been happy.

We just went last week - 12 guys. We stayed at Reunion Resort Villas next to the east gate/Diamante. Rented golf carts from the guy at Reunion for the 4 days we were there ($35/day/cart). It's our 3rd summer trip to HSV (most of us are in the Memphis area). Just a wonderful place to play golf. If you stay at Reunion (which I HIGHLY recommend), you get full access to Diamante the entire trip - showers, clubhouse, dining, golf (for guest rates), pool and tennis. It's a 3-4 min cart ride to the course. We played Diamante, Granada, Isabella, Ponce, and Magellan this trip. All were great but the first three are fantastic. Echoing the OP...Granada is just a great golf course. Diamante is as well. Isabella is a close 3rd. Magellan is short and the greens were a little furry. Pace of play there was atrocious but the course is pretty good. Ponce is also a good layout and course.
We took an Uber to Oaklawn one night but just beware that the east gate closes at midnight...that drive down to the west gate and then all the way back to the villas was miserable that late at night.
The Reunion Villas are brand new (opened in November 2025). Absolutely going back next year. Our group normally does Mississippi or Alabama trips and we all decided to just keep going back to HSV for the foreseeable future. We rented all 3 of the 4 bedroom villas (there are 3 2 bedroom setups as well). Each villa has king size beds with individual full bathrooms. Huge main living room and full kitchens. Back patio with dining table and grill and TV. Just an awesome setup. There are garages for the golf carts to charge after the rounds. We drove to all 5 of the courses on the carts. They are street legal. Just a great, great setup and HSV is an awesome area for golf, hiking, boating, etc and it won't break the bank either. Cheaper than Old Waverly/Mossy Oak, the Biloxi trip we did last year, most of the RTJ trips we've taken. So it's got it all covered.
