Hosel Rockets with irons....

help a brother out. Just became a frequent shot in the past couple of weeks with my irons...hitting a consistent draw with my driver and 3 metal.
My normal shot shape is a nice high trajectory draw....this straight right shot is creeping into my iron shots waaaay too often. Have ZERO confidence in my irons right now.
Tips wanted!

prayers sent. Could be early extension, swaying, coming over the top or a combination of all three. Take a head cover and put it just beyond the ball. Practice coming from the inside by avoiding the headcover. Start with short swings and progress to longer swings as you gain confidence.

No. His swing plane is in-to-out as he describes it. Coming over the top isn’t the only way to shank the ball.
OP, if you are consistently drawing your woods, and your normal shot is a high draw, it sounds like you have too much of an angle of approach.
Put the ball a little further up in your stance. If it stops immediately, that’s probably your issue. If it doesn’t, try hitting a few pushes with your woods, and transfer that same feeling to your irons. If neither work, dish out the dough for a lesson.

Thanks...will definitely try this ASAP. I figured ball position was an issue, just haven't had time to actually work on it. Does seem like I've been playing my shorter irons further back in my stance. Will put the head cover just to the right of the ball as well...can't hurt.
Thanks guys!

Never heard of shanks being cured by ball position.

Pull your toes toward the sky at address.
This is a distraction from the constant thought of “I hope it does not go quick right and fade further right”

Really? Every shank I’ve ever hit was due to bad ball position.

Shotgun a beer for each hosel rocket. You’ll quit eventually.

If someone figures it out let me know. I had the shanks when I was younger. I can play to a single digit handicap then all of a sudden my name is “sir shanks alot”. Only thing that fixes mine is a couple weeks off.
