Played much better today, and most of our flight played shitty but we were too far gone after yesterday.
I did win a closest to hole today so not all is lost.

I’m not sure why there were so many higher scores today. Course didn’t seem to play any harder/different.

Everybody’s arse gets tight on Sunday. I noticed the difference between day 1 and 2 last weekend. Saturday was a party and Sunday the course was dead quiet.

People were definitely grinding today. Pace was way, way slower. My partner tightened up some and I was forced to play for par a lot today. Not all on him though. I didn’t birdie enough holes this week. Over both days, I had just 3 birdies, a double, and 5 bogies. I shot 72/76.
Overall, it was a fricking awesome tournament. Course was great. Calcutta (first one for Greystone) went off really well. Tony is a beast at running it. Props all around.

Driver-8 iron to about 10’ but left it wide.
3 birdies today. None yesterday

Lol. 71 put us 3rd. One team shot 68 on Sat.
I hurt my back in hole 7 and couldn’t swing the club the rest of the day. My partner carried us the last 11 holes.
I’ve played Greystone about 5 times. My best score is 76, but the other 4 times average 82. My handicap at most courses is a 10. If that’s sandbaghing then so be it. My partner is an 8. They flighted us based on that.

Fwiw, handicap isn’t an average.

I know this. But if we play courses with similar ratings and slopes it’s basically an average.

Still wrong. A closer estimate would be an average of your 5 best scores out of your last 20 rounds at similar courses. Handicap isn't meant to be a representation of what you "usually" do; it's supposed to be what you "can" do on one of your better days. But even that isn't a great estimate because it's all in relation to a 113 slope. The golds at GStone is 70.7/131. A 76 there results in a 4.6 differential. If you played 6 more times with an average of 82, that's just 7 scores and you're supposed to take an average of your 2 lowest differentials... one of which is 4.6. If your next lowest was just a 6.3 (a score of 78), then your handicap should have been listed as a 5, not a 10.

Pairings were made on combined HANDICAP INDEX, not handicap.

I'm not calling him out as a sandbagger, only providing information. Many people think the index is/should be your average score. That's not what it is.
ETA: Of course, If you have an established index with the LGA and put in all of your scores, then this isn't an issue. Calculation is done for you and the club can find it.

You should very rarely shoot a score that is on your handicap number, so a 12 handicap should play GREAT and shoot 84, rarely this should happen because a handicap is 20 scores, only counting the 10 best and then only taking .96% of that. So the sandbaggers with the 12 handicaps that routinely shoot 75 are cheaters!!!!

I did my sandbagging on Saturday

I'm a 10.6 and shot 75 Saturday, promptly backed it up with an 85 Sunday

What do you consider very rarely?
As a 5 index, I feel like I shoot 77 or better around 20% of the time. I know there are more variables to it than that, but I wouldn’t say it’s very rare, in my experience.
