Finding new playing partners?

For those of you who have lost your regular golfing buddies over time, who do you play with? Just show up and get paired up on join more club type atmospheres?

I've been paired with randos plenty. It's all good until you meet someone you don't really mesh well with for whatever reason (skill, attitude, etiquitte, etc) then you just leave their arse at the turn

Happened to me last week in Gulf Shores. Just colossal assholes that were also terrible golfers. I'm not that good anymore myself, but some people just need to lighten up. And I left them at the turn, but the starter(they had one at #1 and #10 because it was so busy) made me wait for another group to come through which took about 15-20 minutes.
