Anyone played there? Got invited to play a 3 man up there next month, just looking for some info on the course. It's a 2 day deal so would probably stay around there overnight. Pics of course look pretty nice, but who knows what it really looks like...

Is it a hazard? If you dont know how far out it is you can hit your tee shot into it?

Played that course as a kid and it was always phenomenal but, obviously things change. Be prepared for some elevation changes which is refreshing from where i come from.

Been a member there my whole life and played there last weekend. As with many courses it used to be in much better shape - with declining membership causing a lack of funds the course is not in perfect condition right now, but it is still pretty good.

Tee boxes are pretty average. Fairways as hard as a brick, but have pretty good grass. With the exception of a couple on the front, the greens are in great shape. Greens at FCC are traditionally very fast, but they are keeping them pretty fuzzy right now so they are rolling slow.

FCC is a very challenging course for a novice golfer. Nearly every fairway is sloped up/down/left/right which requires you to shape the ball and be accurate off the tee. You must be able to hit your approach shots off uneven lies. There are several holes where the infamous ditch requires you to either lay up or attempt to carry. Nearly every approach shot is to an elevated "turtle shell" green surrounded by bunkers. It has always been one of my favorite courses in the SW MS area just because of the unique challenging layout. Have fun I may see you out there!

Yes, the ditch is a red hazard. On hole 12 and 13 it is in clear view and an easy carry off the tee. Hole 14 is a blind tee shot, and I believe the ditch starts around 225 yards from the blues. If you can carry a driver 260 you can carry it on 14 but you don't get much of an advantage over laying up. Comes back into play on hole 18 (hardest hole on course). On 18 just hit an iron off the tee and pray for a lucky bounce in the fairway!

Learned to play golf there back in the day of Tim Hogan. The front and back have been renumbered so I don’t know which hole is which

Greens always in good shape.
Tough little course for sure. Lot of blind tee shots. I would go play before scramble for sure.
I’m playing in the 3 man.
Lot of legit golfers in That scramble.
It’s a fun tourney

Yes planning on getting a round in before the scramble. Is it open to the public normally? I did see they were doing a $15 practice round the friday before
