I may be headed out to Miami area at the end of March and would like to hit a course or 4 while out there. It looks like most of the best courses require a stay and play scenario.

Doral seems to offer a decent amount of golf for the money compared to PGA National or Turnberry.

Does anyone have some recs for that area or have played the Doral courses?

Cheers

have played the Doral courses?

Played 3 of the 4 in Sept

Courses were in good shape, lots of sand and water. A lot of target golf

We stayed onsite

Eating & drinking there is pretty expensive

One of the better pro shops I’ve ever been in, Blue Monster has its own pro shop.

Would you recommend the courses?
Which course did you like the most?

Played the Blue Monster and it was fun.

If you want a good arse kicking, play Colony West..

8 of us played CW from the tips and only one guy broke 100 with a 97....

Hogan Tour played there twice and refused to come back.

I love Doral. Ive played 2 of 4. It's an experience you will remember. They have good rental equipment if you need it. Pro shop is super nice and the locker room is awesome.

I've played some munis down there but none that were memorable for good reasons. One little course we played at my partner said, "don't leave your cell phone out while you're playing bc somebody might steal it." I said where the hell did you bring me?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm sort of leaning towards staying there for two nights which would allow me to play 36 each day so I could hit all four. I figure I may as well if I have the chance.

Has anyone played Turnberry Soffer/Miller courses? I hear they are really amazing so I’m torn.

Anyone stayed at either of those resorts? Any reports there?

Thanks! It seems Doral may be easiest place to do since they have a decent stay and play package. Seems like all the courses are solid.
