A remotely competent person using the app is faster than whipping out a range finder and ranging bunkers, flag, front and back of green.

Okay, then go add in your score on the hole, did you hit the fairway and if not which side did you miss on, GiR?, any penalty strokes, how many putts, how many greenside bunker and of course...how many chip shots.

I just use my Garmin watch to check distances and keep score along with the Garmin Golf App. I just have to edit the number of putts when I'm done.

Easy enough to do at the next tee box after I tee off and waiting on the next three to hit. And again it literally takes 5 seconds.

Some of y’all just don’t know how to use technology?

It literally takes 5 seconds, do it while the rest of your group hits or if a single while waiting on the person in front of you to play.

It’s like checking 4 boxes on an app is high math or something.

I know very well how to use the tech and still do from time to time. Its an undebatable fact that it takes longer than not doing it. How much longer depends on the user but it definitely adds time.

I don’t know why people even want to argue that point…just acknowledge it and that accept that you try to do it as seamless as possible. Along with that, acknowledge that not all golfers using the app are as swift as others. It’s THOSE golfers that are the biggest complaint.

The fact that it’s annoying to others who aren’t on their phones is just a bonus I guess.

I just don’t know why this is the hill you’re dying on. If you’re using an app to keep score and/or get distances, how is it slower than using a traditional scorecard and a range finder? I would actually argue the app is faster than a rangefinder while putting the score in the app is the same speed as writing it on a scorecard. Either way we are talking about a few seconds different.

I play a ton of golf, I actually don’t believe you’ve ever been slowed down by somebody because they were using 18 birdies. I believe you’ve played behind slow people who use 18 birdies, but not someone who was slowed down by the app
