You never got a response to your actual question bc the pga nerds just want to shite on LIV.

No, he didn’t get fired. It was a “team transfer” that they both wanted to do.

quote:

They’ve chatted about the transfers, how it happened that both were involved. Gooch wanted to play with his good friend Harold Varner III. Uihlein felt like he was joining the Yankees when he got the nod from 4Aces Captain Dustin Johnson, whose team won four regular-season events and the Team Championship last year.

I tried to watch this weekend, caught a commercial break then a 5-minute segment of David Feherty talking stats, then another commercial. I never returned.

4Aces acquiring Uihlein is just like when the Yankees signed Reggie Jackson.

I tried to watch LIV this weekend but never really got invested. IMO the biggest problems are...

the broadcast team - pushing the talk show angle too much instead of golf analysis/broadcast,
fields aren't deep enough - Charles Howell running away with a 4 stroke lead wasn't very climactic. With only 48 players and a portion of them being Korn Ferry types I'm afraid this might happen regularly
Shotgun start - this isn't really a problem until Sunday. Going down the stretch and not knowing what holes guys have left relative to competitors in a different group makes it confusing

Uihlein turned pro 12 years ago & made a total of $4M playing on the tour.

He finished 3rd on LIV last year & won $12M. Now he gets to play with DJ & Reed… and he just won another $2.6M this weekend.

The issue is the negative impact on the PGA tour and events. I actually attend events and this is negatively impacting that experience with lesser fields. I think LIV should be isolated and players banned from any majors.

This week the PGA might as well have just been honest and called the Honda, the Korn Ferry Special. Tiger and Alfalfa got what they want with an enormous push from LIV Golf. They got a nucleus of events where the prize money is high, they now don't have to travel as much, and they are much more in control of their family lives and keeping their points high.

With the right leverage, a man can lift the world.

I just don’t know I would be crowing so hard on a week Howell III runs away with a LIV event, but you do you

63 on a Sunday? On that course? His putting was better than anything I've ever seen from him, especially with the heat on. Nothing fluky about it. And that 4.25 million dollar purse was kinda cool too.

If he putted like that more often he could compete on the PGA tour.

Well you are making fun of the Honda classic, which is at PGA national, and the winner fired 4 rounds in the 60s which included a 62…..

I don't have a problem with the Honda. The best players in the world seem to.

Brand sells, in every sport. The Arnold coming up will once again explain it to the masses.

What's pretty funny is that Chris Kirk has more PGA Tour wins than Charles Howell III, a Presidents Cup Appearance, and honestly a cooler story coming back from his struggle with alcoholism and you are really excited that a guy who has made $40 million on the PGA Tour got more money

I haven't really thought about it that much either way. But off-hand, I think it's good for Kirk that all the best PGA players were doing something else this weekend.

In the 4 events he's played in since the new year he's had three top 3 finishes and is top 10 in Strokes Gained. He's playing great golf right now.
