I have a set of Taylor Made Burner irons that I’ve been playing with for about 5-6 years now. Fantastic set and have had no issues. Bought them from a friend for cheap in college but the kicker is they were fitted for him and he’s about 6’1 or 6’2 and I’m 5’11. This has lead to miss hits throughout the years with grounding the clubs.

I’ve really been playing a lot more in the past year or so and my question is whether it’s worth getting these clubs fitted for me or am I better off investing in a new set if I’m going to spend the money for fitting?

Thanks in advance

To get those to fit you, which the heads may not, you may need to reshaft them. Thats $30-$50 per club. No way I would spend that on club heads that old.

Get a new set fitted to you and don't look back.

If I’m 6’4, do I need longer clubs?

...or do I just suck no matter what?

Odds are good that this isn’t the reason you’re having mishits and fat shots. Always a good idea to get fitted though.

Yep! I’m 6’3 and my clubs are +1” long. I could’ve gotten away with +1/2, but I like to feel like I’m choking down a little bit.

Check the lie of the clubs. That’ll cause mis hit big time

I agree the lie is a big talking point with the fitting. I am usually a digger.
