I read about Club Champion. Has anyone had fittings and purchased clubs from them before? I see their fee is a bit high, but wonder about the experience and if their club cost is in line with other outlets. I have also looked into PGA Superstore. Just wondering what experience anyone has with either of these two.

Your chance of getting a good fitting at Club Champion is worlds better than getting a good fitting at PGA Superstore. However, they do put stuff that's kind of over the top and not needed for 99% of the golf population.

If you're in Chicago, I'd probably go to Club Champion. That's their HQ and I'm sure their fitters are good.

They’re fittings are really good and their prices on club/shaft combos are as high as giraffe p&$$y

I’d go through them and buy elsewhere or go through Buddha at Bebu and buy through him

Don’t do the PGA Superstore. You’re relying on an hourly retail person to give you a club fitting

I got a free fitting in Chicago and they were really good. I did not buy clubs from them but did use them for grips and they were regularly priced.

thanks for the reply. I am a 54 yr old high handicapper, trying to improve my game again, so i don't want to be oversold, but I need to update my 15+ yr old clubs. If i get the specs from club champion, can i get the same equipment elsewhere at a better price? Just not sure how all of that works.

If you'll let them know what your budget is in each club category, they'll do their best to fit you within your budget. You're free to buy elsewhere.

How does Bebu Golf Studio compare to Club Champion? I planned on going to get fitted for a driver with Bebu during the holidays for $150 and going back for irons in the spring. However, CC is running an offer for 50% off on full bag fitting ($175). So for $25 more I can get a full bag fitting at CC. Is it any better or that much better at Bedu? Do they both have access to all the name brands? Is it just one person that is the fitter at CC? Is it off of matts at both locations? How does getting fitted off of matts compare to fitting on grass - wouldn't your irons react differently?

Buddah used to work at a club champion, maybe in DC or Baltimore. He does a great job and he won’t upsell you. Neither are bad options, though.

Club Champion, TXG, Tour Spec, etc.. are all top notch fitters. Where they'll get you if you're not careful is upselling on aftermarket shafts. If your budget is tight, tell them you only want to be fitted for no upcharge factory options. Any of the upselling options such as shaft puring, SST, etc... is most likely not going to benefit 99.99% of golfers. Regardless, you can go in for a fitting and then order the stuff you were fitted for elsewhere.

That makes sense. I am a high handicapper playing with hand-me-down irons from the 90's and a 12 year old driver.

I just had an iron fitting with them today. It was absolutely incredible. Tried a ton of head and shaft combinations and even got to see the workshop. Gained 7 yards with my irons.

Great place for guys that just want to dump a load of cash.

Find a good Pro that has a decent driving range and knows how to fit a guy.
