This is my wheelhouse. Grew up in Savannah and worked in the golf business there and HHI.
For Savannah golf, I'd recommend Crosswinds and Henderson GC. Both are convenient to I95 and getting back and forth to HHI. I used to work at Southbridge, which is also right on the interstate, but I've heard the conditioning has gone way down. Any of those 3 would be good.
As far as HHI is concerned, the three Palmetto Dunes courses are good. Port Royal and Shipyard aren't bad either and they have multiple courses as well.
If you have a private club member in your group, see if their pro will call and get you on Long Cove Club. It's the best course on the island IMO. Another great private club is Hampton Hall off the island. Rose Hill is off island as well and is open to the public.
Hope this helps.

Was down in Savanahh a couple months ago, and we played Crosswinds.
Pretty decent layout, with some very interesting holes. Had no idea how to play some of them off the tee being my first time there.
Greens were very slow. But the planes flying over all the time was pretty cool.
Id play it again. Pretty cheap and enjoyable enough.

Charleston National is a great course.
Also, the muni in Mt. Pleasant was just re-done and is a pleasure.

I am supposed to play the Ocean Course a week from today. Watching this storm track directly towards Kiawah.. I could cry.
