And he only hits 71% of fairways. I wonder what would happen to his driving average if his ball was mishit or hit a tree 250 yards down the edge of the fairway. He hit a pull hook in the Masters that went straight left into the trees.

Do you enjoy making people think you’re a moron?
Posted on 5/3/24 at 8:22 pm to ell_13
Bro, I’m fine being labeled a moron by you if you truly accept 188 is the average tour players 6 iron carry as well
Posted on 5/3/24 at 8:24 pm to lsupride87
They hit 8 and 7 irons into a 155 yard par 3 at Augusta every year. fricking hacks right?
Posted on 5/3/24 at 8:30 pm to ell_13
They also hit 6 irons into 210 yard par 3s
The average should take into account the flights down shots as well as the back foot shots that take away loft
Those the term average, which should lead to stock distance. So no, I think the chart is flawed as I don’t think 188 is stock 6 iron carry on your

Where they often land it 190 knowing how hard the greens are and it’s going to release. Or like at Augusta where they play way downhill to a the long ones on the front. Crazy shite I know.

If someone started a thread “guess a pros average 6 iron carry” I would bet 1 million shrute bucks you would have made fun of me if I said 188

People have explained it over and over. There’s what they CAN hit with a full swing on the range with no wind and 90° and what they hit on course into hard greens, uphill/side lies and into wind. I wouldn’t be shocked at all.

Thank you for that
Harman is known as one of the shortest hitters on tour. Thanks for defending my point
His average carry
Unless are you trying to say Harman is the exact avarage tour player in distance
ETA: your trackman data has Harman at 272
So 13 yards off. I’d say that’s fairly accurate how far trackman is off. 298 tour average seems right

He is averaging 273 carry this year so far according to in-tournament numbers. Yet you will go with a Titleist ad from 2018 as being more accurate.

So you’re NOT using it to support your argument that Trackman is wrong?

The link I posted is from ShotLink. On course data only. The source you posted which you can't comprehend uses on-course and range data.

No, apparently the poster arguing on your side wanted to post it in support of you? Strange I know since it completely contradicts you

For Harman to average 272 carry that means he is hitting HUNDREDS of drives in the 250s for the year.
Sorry, bullshite

I’m not putting in value in it. You are.
You think it’s legit.

quote:Again, I wish you would look at the data. The PGA stat page shows the number of shots they are using. Harman is at 332 shots. It could be that they’re between 263 and 283. Or 255 and 291. Or some outliers from mishits and downhill and downwind. Insane shite. Unbelievable.
