21 degree loft
Project X shaft
What kind of distance should I expect out of this club.

Somewhere between 5 and 500 yards.

I'm just going to hit it today and find out for myself.

I honestly hope you weren't expecting a serious, specific answer. You gave zero information that would allow anyone to even guess.

I was just looking for a ballpark, I hit it a couple times yesterday and was around the 230 mark, just was wondering if that is about normal or if I'm pissing in the wind and should just stick to my 4 iron.

I hit my 22 degree 3 iron 225 so?

100-400 depending on almost every factor in the book
Age, Handicap, size, how far you hit every other club, playing conditions, etc
I would probably hit that club 250-260 but am a 6 handicap and hit my irons a long way. Im also 29 years old
I hit my Apex 21 with a KBS C-Taper Xstiff degree about 230-240

Somewhere between 4 iron and 3 wood distance

You should hit it shorter than your 5 wood and longer than your 4 iron.
If you have a 3 iron (which is what the loft of this club is), I would say it will be a little longer 5-10 yards more than that, do to the cavity and weighting making it a little "hotter" than your set 3 iron.
If you do not have a 3 iron, it should be ~20 yards longer than your 4 iron, assuming you have a 10-12 yard gapping in your set.
Typically unless you have a strong swing speed, the long irons (2 & 3 irons) and the "utility / driving" irons may not be suited to your game. They are less forgiving (though the UT irons are more forgiving than the traditional irons) and harder to get up (in the air, perv). Some people loose distance / gapping with the longer irons due to insufficient swing speed and / or ball striking.
disclaimer: I have no idea how you swing, what your distances are, or anything about your golfing abilities. I only know what I do (even my knowledge there is somewhat limited).

this guy golfs! Listen to what he says. It may actually improve your game.

I was having trouble hitting hybrids and fairway woods (still am) and bought an X-Prototype utility a few years ago. Got it at 18* loft. Face is shallow, so it came off really hot, but low. I had it bent to 20*, and it helped get it up a little, so it’s essentially a strong three iron. I use it from 200-220. I can play it up in my stance to hit it higher into greens, and back in my stance to hit it lower on short Par 4’s or for second shots on Par 5’s if I don’t have to carry anything. It’s also a good trouble club to hit lower runners from under trees. I call my Billy Baroo. Love it.
