It’s just the way golf goes. Nothing really exclusive to Burns or any other player for that matter.
Have you seen the top 100 in the world from 2010-2012? 10 years ago some of these names were in the headlines and on leaderboards:
Graeme McDowell
Jason Dufner
Brandt Snedeker
Rickie Fowler
Luke Donald
Keegan Bradley
Some of those names haven’t been in the top 100 in years.
It’s a very cyclical sport to say the least, with very few players that are capable of being consistent every single year.
Have you seen the top 100 in the world from 2010-2012? 10 years ago some of these names were in the headlines and on leaderboards:

Agree with much of what you say , but as a top 10 player at the moment I would expect that he at least make cuts , and not be at the bottom of the cut line .
