Broke 90 today by a good margin after struggling with it. Shot an 85. Had a lot of 9 hole rounds that strung together would have put me at this score. But for a full 18, my best had been 92. It's one of those things where I knew I could do it, but it just wasn't happening. Would shoot a 92, 93, 94, then blow up to ~100 for a stretch of rounds and feel like I was never close.

Golf is obviously a game of "if xyz wouldn't have happened". But you can't take those back. I barely had anything like that today. Mistakes were not horrible and recovery shots were there. Just one hole where I hooked a ball hard off the tee on a par three and had to re-tee and put it hole high on the green from 175. Two strokes I wish I had back for an 83 (I'm greedy ).

One of the keys today was just mental. Reminded myself I've only been playing regularly (after a 20+ year break) for under 8 months and I'm just not good yet. Bad shots will definitely happen and don't let it ruin the next shot.

Congrats. Actually a huge accomplishment. 80 is next. Where did you play?
