British Open advice?

We are going to be in Liverpool on the Friday of the British Open. For those who have been before, what do you recommend for getting tickets? Should we try to get them in advance? Are they still available through the normal channels (box office, Ticketmaster, etc.), or sold out? Can we just show up without tickets and still get them that day (from box office or scalpers or otherwise)? Any advice is appreciated.

I don't have any answers to this, but I would recommend watching Golf Digest's video detailing every hole LINK. I watched the version for the PGA Championship last year and it made the experience more enjoyable when I was on the grounds.

Never been to the British Open but have been to multiple majors and tickets were difficult to buy months out unless you overpaid on Ticketmaster, etc. Good luck finding them.

Looks like there are plenty available on the secondary market for $150 or less, so we'll go ahead and grab those.

It's the Open, don't tell them British Open unless you want a lecture.
