Have any of you guys played this course? Just read about it and the write up seems cool.

Play it often. It is a cool course and I recommend playing it. It's not a CC, it's a state course. And being as it is a state course in a broke arse state it is not in as good of shape as it should be. But it's still nice enough and the green are in good shape.

I have played there and recommended it to golfers for years. I have never heard anything but good reviews. It is a public golf course, but has always been very playable. It is an interesting layout and has many holes that have a South Louisiana feel! The front has some difficult holes, while the back is more risk/reward.

One of the better layouts and scenery you will find in Louisiana. They had a lot of trouble maintaining bunkers because it’s a state course and it got too expensive. I was told they turned them into grass bunkers and it looks great. Haven’t been out there this year yet but always love playing there.

Outside of the traps the course was always in good shape when I'd play a few years ago. It's a good step up from your usual course in that piece range. Worth the drive from Monroe imo

Great layout. The fairway bunkers are being sodded so you’ll need to play those as GUR. Saw a black bear and cub last visit.
