As a fellow new golfer who has played about 7-8 rounds, my best score so far is a 118. I’d be pumped with a 108 lol

The beginning and the end.

The beginning:
Get a driver lesson.
A teaching pro can help your setup and you will get the ball in play from the tee.

The end:
Get a short game lesson.
Putt if you can, chip if you can’t, pitch if you have to.

If you can start each hole in play you will lower your score.

If you can limit 3 putts, you score will go down.

If you can eliminate chili dips and sculls from greenside, your scores will go down.

Find just a few greenside shots.

And don’t forget that a bump and run can be your friend.

Enjoy playing. Golf becomes frustrating when you try to get good.

My driver is my best club in the bag. I just hit it good usually.

The best way to start bringing down you score is not losing balls on your drive and getting good at chipping and putting.

You can make up a lot of strokes around the greens.

That’s solid. Try to watch some of Golf Sidekick videos on YouTube. He has a number of course management videos that I wish I would’ve done more of when starting out.

Can’t hit woods or long irons.

Common problem for high handicappers. Remember that the clubs are made for you to hit the ball far. Keep it smooth and don't swing harder with the longer clubs. I found it helpful to follow the tempo of certain tour pros that have swings I like (Patrick Reed, Chris Kirk, Jake Knapp).
