Anyone play with shorter than standard irons

That isn’t Mingo short?
I’m 5’11 and started an experiment (I love to tinker) and picked up some shorter irons. I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It’s allowed me to get after it more without fearing the chunks. My miss is low on the face but it still rolls out and doesn’t hurt my round nearly as much as a fat shot. Picked up distance as I’m finding sweet spot more consistently.

I did it with my woods about 2 years ago and have never gone back.

I'm 5'8-5'9 and play PING Red Dots minus 1/2". I feel like I could go even shorter.

I have been wondering about this. I’m about 5’10 and often choke down on my clubs. Next set I was considering going shorter than normal.

It’s funny you post this as I was just thinking the other day I’d like the feel of my irons more if they were shorter.
I play a 3 wood shaft in my driver so wouldn’t mind taking everything down a 1/2 inch.

It takes one or to holes for me to remember. The set I got (used) were all swing weighted to my last set, so minimal difference in “fee’” but confidence skyrocketed.
One thing I’ve noticed is ball placement has become more pivotal. A half ball forward and I’m really drawing it. That’s something that I’ve had to adjust to. Not sure if that’s the short sticks or something else.

I’ve gone completely opposite in all my clubs. The longer wedges are a god send.
