Morganfield Golf Club?

The news release from December of 2018 says they should be done around end of the year this year. I passed by and can 100% confirm that's not going to happen. They've got some dozers out there forming the place.

I think it's going to be a flop honestly. It's in the middle of a rice field and apparently they're going to have 170+ bunkers on the course. No possible way they're going to keep those up.

I definitely agree about the bunkers... Decent golf courses sometimes don't keep the bunkers up.

I'm sure plenty of people will play there once Mallard closes. I haven't heard anything but I'll check on my sources.

No point in that. Works in Bandon Oregon because it’s all sand. Or California because it doesn’t really rain much. Disaster in the southeast.

I agree, mallard is sub par conditions all the time. Sure it will be the same for the morganfield addition..

I hope the owners have deep pockets. It's a minimum of $1000 dollars a bunker per year. Damn

Well the owner is the city of Lake Charles. I'd imagine a 500k maintenance budget would be on the high end.

About right. Gonna need a crew just for bunkers.

Augusta has about 40 bunkers maybe? Granted some are very big so that makes up for quantity a little.

Apparently they nixed quite a few of the bunkers from the original plan. They have to have the new clubhouse built before they open the new one and they haven't even broken ground on it.
