I need a swing thought to help me keep quiet arms and hands during downswing.

Any suggestions?

I play better when I just let the swing happen. When I try, it does not help.

How do I try not to try?

I need Yoda.

There seems to be a fine line between relaxing tension and allowing swing versus trying to apply more force and coming over the top for me.

Get your body out in front of your swing. Almost feel a Hideki pause at the top and really fire your hips.

This is at least a very good drill. You are probably starting the swing with your arms

The best golfer I've ever played with on a regular basis used to always say, "It's a gravity move". When I could actually feel/do it, I was hitting the best irons of my life. I need to get back to that somehow.

I don't know if this will help but it does the trick for me. Whenever I initiate the down swing, i focus on leading the downswing with my trail elbow. It feels like i am throwing my elbow toward the ball. It is something I picked up watching those beautiful slow mo vids of pro golfer swings lol.

Clear your mind of everything except for golf swing and breathing. Make the exact swing you want to execute in your practice swing. When u approach the ball, you should already know the swing. One thing the pros are really good at doing is duplicating their practice swing on the real thing.

Don’t think how to swing the club. Think externally. Hitting the sweet spot, moving the ball to target etc.

Do you think of elbow position when throwing darts?

If my elbow is what causes deviation in my throwing pattern, then yes. Everyone has a cue to get any kind of movement repeatable

I was always told to make a good swing and let the ball get in the way.
