re: Xbox to PS4

I want to switch to a Xbox One controller for PC since I think it'll solve a lot of game compatibility issues (would no longer have to use a program like DS4Windows) and the connection where the micro USB plugs in CANNOT be worse than it is for a PS4 controller, which is finnicky and can result in disconnect after disconnect - not good for playing Rocket League.
Just not sure what I need - I do not want Bluetooth. So can I just buy a Xbox One controller on Amazon with a micro USB? Will any micro USB work? Would I also need the Xbox One rechargeable battery pack or do I even need batteries at all with the micro USB constantly being connected?
I just feel like some of those questions were dumb.. but whatever. Don't want to buy more than I need.

PS DS controllers are supported now. Idk why you are using that program still.
But yeah, just buy a Xbox controller. They are awesome. No issues. Any cord will work.
Can get a dongle or non dongle one.

I have weird issues when not using DS4Windows, so much so that I've just stuck with using the program. If I just plug n play for Rocket League on Steam I don't get any lightbar color and I get 0 rumble. I'm sorry but I generally like rumble and it just feels so weird without it. And frick Big Picture Mode.. just don't like it. The only issues I have with the PS4 controller on PC are disconnects due to the shitty connector port for the micro USB.
Do I need to buy the rechargeable battery pack? The plug n play kit or whatever?

I recommend it but can use AA.

I bought the Xbox One black controller and play and charge kit. So I can just plug this into my usb and it'll download a driver? I know the buttons map the same but it'll be nice to actually be using the controller that matches the button inputs on the screen and in options. Hope rumble just works too... I think going Microsoft will just solve a lot of issues.

I guess they don't flat out just make wired controllers anymore? Either way I have these in my Amazon cart and think I'm going to pull the trigger:
-Microsoft Xbox Wireless Controller + Wireless Adapter for Windows 10
-Xbox One Play and Charge Kit
The first is a package where it seems I can just use it Bluetooth which would be great (though I worry about latency/input delay). I added the charge kit because I wanted the rechargeable battery instead of going through tons of batteries.
So basically if I want to use Bluetooth it'd be good to have a rechargeable battery right? And I guess if I don't like any potential delay I can just not use the adapter and plug and play with the charge kit instead.

Thats if you own a gaming rig. For years I spent more time on my PS4 but lately I've been spending a lot more time on the One X. The reason is game pass. Day one releases of 1st and some 3rd p party titles... 1st party titles remain available forever... All titles are downloaded but will be able to be streamed soon... Recent titles coming to the service pretty soon after launch...I planned on getting a PS5 first this go around but Game Pass has me looking more and more at Scarlett. In the past couple months I've been playing what Remains of Edith Finch, Gears 5, Prey, Metro Exodus,Outer World, Rage 2 (launched yesterday).. Its a very good deal for 10.00s a month.

Meh. External is easy. If your ps4 hangs up by chance (happened to my launch one) you won't have to reformat and re-download all the games.
