xbone keeps auto powering off after 5-10 minutes

purchased in 2014. I believe the cooling fan is broken as my xbone keeps automatically shutting down at the 10 minute mark and the cooling fan does not start up.
I opened it up to check for dust and my dumbass ended up ripping the power button strip. I can still power it on to use it if need be but cant put the faceplate back on.
Should I try to replace to cooling fan (assuming that's even the problem) or just sell it for parts at this point?

Pic won't load for me, but I'm assuming it's the RROD.
I had a friend who insisted his would go bad anytime I went out of town for work. I think he went through 6 or 7.
